For those who are new to the industry or are looking for a boost for their business, we offer a comprehensive course just for you: Travel Agent Education Powered by Avoya. Housed in Avoya Travel Academy, this Magellan award-winning course offers three plan options to set you up for success so you can hit the ground running from day one.

More than just a rebrand of our educational offering, the Avoya Travel Academy embodies a commitment to providing cutting-edge insights and immersive learning experiences, igniting inspiration in future travel advisors.

YES! Travel Agent Education Powered by Avoya offers the most dynamic and comprehensive travel advisor curriculum available. Once complete, you will be able take the Travel Agent Education Certification (TAEC™) exam. The exam fee is included with your registration.

YES! All content is online and self-paced. Please keep in mind that not all travel industry completion certificates are recognized internationally. Please check your country’s regulations before registering for the coursework offered in preparation for the Travel Agent Education Certification (TAEC™) exam. 

Please Note: At this time, the Avoya Network can only offer affiliation with Independent Agencies who reside in the United States. If you reside in a country other than the United States and pay for Travel Agent Education Powered by Avoya, your Independent Agency will not be able to affiliate with the Avoya Network once complete.

The program is open registration. You can register and start the program TODAY, if you are ready. Once your registration payment is processed, you will be automatically enrolled, and will receive a “Welcome” email containing your login credentials. The email will be sent to the email address used at time of registration.

YES! The program is 40 – 45 hours. At a leisurely – yet, committed – pace we anticipate the program taking between 4-5 weeks to complete. Some have completed the curriculum in as little as 3 weeks! The program is self-paced, and you will have access to the platform for 100 days from date of registration.

It depends. With some, you can. However, several require experience or a  travel education certificate. We would encourage anyone considering a new career to learn more about the industry. Completing the comprehensive coursework Travel Agent Education Powered by Avoya offers, will provide you with the industry basics needed to develop your confidence and knowledge – building a solid foundation for your journey to becoming an industry expert. 

GREAT QUESTION! While the travel industry does not require any specific certifications to become a travel agent, obtaining a travel industry recognized certificate demonstrates your commitment to professionalism, as well as a strong desire to become an industry expert.

A big first step is registering and completing a new-to-travel agent training program, like the Travel Agent Education Powered by Avoya. 

The Travel Agent Education Powered by Avoya is an incredible value, offering many inclusions. 

The BASIC Package includes: 

• Online access to the Travel Agent Education Certification coursework for 100 days from date of purchase. 
• Travel Agent Education Certification (TAEC) exam fee is included in registration. Value of $95.
• Comprehensive, online, self-paced coursework. Value of $649.
• Lessons are available in both written format and audio format. Preparing you for the TAEC test.
• Note: Quizzes and final TAEC test are not available in audio format.
• Norwegian Cruise Line: Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Certifications.
• Certified Accessible Travel Advocate Certification (CATA).
• Support from known travel industry leaders and experts with over 120 + years of combined industry experience.

The BASIC PLUS Package includes everything in the BASIC Package, plus you will receive:

• Avoya Network Affiliation.

PLEASE NOTE: With the BASIC PLUS Package, the Avoya Network Affiliation agreement MUST BE SIGNED within 30 days of course completion, or there will be a $100 admin fee to reinstate.

The ESSENTIALS Package includes everything in the BASIC Package (not BASIC PLUS Package), plus you will receive: 

• Individual Membership (IAM) for Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) – Once TAEC exam has been completed and passed. Value of $399 without premier host agency connection (or $129 if affiliated with a premier host agency) + over $3,000 in bonus commission coupons for each member.
• Membership inclusions: CLIA Personal ID (printed EMBARC ID not included), access to comprehensive professional development and training, cruise line and partner commission opportunities and exclusive personal travel perks and discounts. Individual Agent Membership also opens the door for you to pursue and achieve CLIA Certification.
• ASTA Membership. Once TAEC exam has been completed and passed. ASTA Future Travel Professional membership – Value of $99.
• The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) is the world’s leading association of travel professionals. ASTA is the global advocate for travel agencies, the travel industry and the traveling public. They champion ethical and traveler-friendly practices and policies at every level of government and throughout the travel and hospitality industry. ASTA members are all bound by a shared code of ethics.

The PRO Package includes everything in the BASIC and ESSENTIAL Package, plus:
